Birdie is the dramatic one. Maisie runs on Beagle Standard Time. Jennifer documents it all.
Two rescues, two very different personalities, one very well-documented friendship.
Adopted March 2020 · Plott hound + beagle + white Swiss shepherd + mystery
Home a week into COVID lockdown, after months in foster care and a previous home or two that didn't stick. It took her a while to believe this one was actually forever — now she's independent, theatrical, and always ready to let you know exactly how she feels about it. Still tests that privacy fence on a regular basis, which is why she never leaves the house without her Fi collar.
Adopted January 2022 · Beagle · Rescue name: Missy
Same rescue as Birdie. Maisie's owner had health issues and couldn't keep her anymore, so I texted the rescue that had Birdie to ask if the two would get along. They did. Food-obsessed, velcro-attached, and operating on her own schedule — and she runs a full car-door inspection every time I get home before deciding it's safe to be thrilled to see her.

I'm a CPA in Lafayette, Indiana. I work from home, I'm 50, and I've had three dogs — all rescues. Birdie & Maisie started after Maisie's cancer diagnosis.
I shoot and write everything myself, I answer every email, and I only post about things Birdie and Maisie actually use. If a product doesn't work for them, I'll tell you before I tell my followers.
